India Richards

Licensed Professional Counselor, NCC

I can help you through the change. You will understand your worth and increase your self-esteem. I know that disconnecting from unhealthy relationships, being anxious, confused, sad, or having difficulties adjusting to new things is a struggle for you. I will help you figure out the thoughts and behaviors that come with this area of your life. Together we will develop individualized goals, and coping skills, in a safe environment during your time with me. This environment will allow you to be validated and heard as you grow into your true identity.

Counseling empowers individuals by allowing them to develop healthier coping skills and an outlet to process their feelings. Through my clinical experiences, I have successfully assisted many teens, women, and men to work through anxiety, depression, grief, and disconnection from unhealthy relationships. Many of my past clients did not believe they could ever experience life without depression, anxiety, or healthy relationships. They struggled to know their true identities due to a lack of boundaries and sometimes trauma.

My theoretical orientation is eclectic. I use Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Restructuring, Brief Therapy, Play-Therapy, Mindfulness Skills, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Christian Counseling (if the client request). My graduate degree is in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. I completed and passed the National Counselor Exam (NCE).

The best way to schedule an appointment with me is by completing the form on this site. You can also email our office using Appointments@InSessionCounseling.com. If you prefer to call, our number is 219-228-8799 or 815-725-1301.
